How we work
Our moon phase, eclipse and supermoon dates are based on public astronomical ephemerides. The live calculations on the site are approximate astronomical figures for informational purposes. When we cover popular tradition —such as haircuts by the moon or the Chinese gender calendar— we say so clearly and remind readers that it has no scientific validity.
